PlayStation Announces the First State of Play of 2024
PlayStation State of Play will run 40 minutes cover 15+ games, with new looks at Stellar Blade and Rise of the Ronin.
Gamers, mark your calendars Sony has officially announced the first PlayStation State of Play of the year on Wednesday, January 31st at 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 10pm GMT. You can catch the presentation via YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok. The show will be packed with over 15 games and feature a total run time of 40 minutes.
Stellar Blade Extended Look
One of the games that has already been teased for the show is Stellar Blade, the sci-fi action-adventure game from Korean studio Shift Up. The game follows Eve, a survivor of an alien invasion that has ravaged Earth, as she battles her way through hordes of enemies using a variety of weapons and skills.
Stellar Blade had previously been given a launch window of “2024 on the PS5.” Early looks have shown off stunning visuals and fast paced gameplay. It would be great to get a new look at the game and a launch date.
The Ronin Will Rise
Another game that we can expect is Rise of the Ronin, the epic open-world RPG from Team Ninja. The title is set in the turbulent Bakumatsu era of Japan, offering players to choose their path in a war-torn land.
The game features intense combat with katanas, guns, and other weapons, as well as exploration of historic cities and countryside with horses, grappling hooks, and gliders. Rise of the Ronin is slated to release for PS5 on March 22, 2024, and Sony confirmed we’ll see more during Wednesday’s State of Play.
A broad range of gaming announcements
The State of Play will also feature a range of other gaming announcements on other “PS5 and PS VR2 titles that are coming in 2024 and beyond.” Along with this, the show will also feature guest appearances from “some of the most talented minds in gaming, who will share their insights and inspirations behind their creations.”
The State of Play will air on Wednesday, January 31 at 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 10pm GMT on YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok. For more details on the upcoming State of Play, where I’ll have a rundown of the announcements after the show. This is a great way to start the new year of gaming, what titles are looking forward to?
