Level up your wardrobe with Uniqlo’s revived Super Mario collection—just in time for the Nintendo Switch 2 launch!

Few characters in pop culture are as timeless—and beloved—as Mario. For 40 years, Nintendo’s mustachioed mascot has leapt, raced, and power-upped his way into our hearts. Just like the games, the style inspired by them has never gone out of fashion, and Uniqlo is here to help 1UP our wardrobes.

As part of their UT Archive project, the Japanese brand is re-releasing select fan-favourite T-shirts from their past Super Mario collections, and I couldn’t be more excited to share that my 11-year-old son and I received samples to check out ahead of launch. We can share our thoughts on both the adult and kids’ lines of the collection. I think it goes without saying, but Spoiler: we’ll be rolling out in style when the Nintendo Switch 2 drops on June 5th.
About the UT Archive Uniqlo Super Mario Collection
The Super Mario x Uniqlo UT Archive collection brings back a greatest-hits lineup of shirts first introduced in 2019 and 2020 to commemorate the franchise’s 35th anniversary—and now revived to celebrate Mario's 40th anniversary. It’s a curated mix of graphic nostalgia, featuring pixel-perfect throwbacks, playful illustrations, and stylish nods to both the mainline games and spin-offs, like Mario Kart.
Our Top Picks from the UT Archive Super Mario Collection
One of my personal favourites? The navy tee that recreates the first Warp Zone from the original Super Mario Bros.—a cheeky nod for those who know exactly which pipe takes you to World 4.
Meanwhile, my son can’t get enough of the Yoshi T-shirt, featuring a big “Wahooo!”—the sound that’s pretty much been echoing through our living room since firing up Mario Kart 8 Deluxe:
In a close favourite second of mine, there is also the black-on-black “Boos” T-shirt, which subtly places the iconic ghost characters on a front pocket and hem—stealthy, spooky, and stylish. It also features a boo on the back of the shirt hidden away just like in the games:
And then there’s the fun “Which Item Will You Get?” t-shirt that merges items from both Super Mario Kart and Mario Kart 64. It’s a playful mashup that any retro gamer (or new-gen fan) can appreciate.
We also love that some of the shirts feature front-and-back designs, which give them extra personality. Whether it’s Lakitu airlifting a soggy Mario out of a race or a Goomba delivering that familiar “Game Over” screen, the humour and charm of these designs make them perfect for longtime fans and newcomers alike.

At $30 for adults and $20 for kids, these tees are a great value for anyone looking to add a bit of fun to their wardrobe. And with the Nintendo Switch 2 just around the corner, the timing couldn’t be better. We’re planning to rock our Mario threads day one, Joy-Con 2s in hand.
You can browse the whole Super Mario x Uniqlo UT Archive collection on Uniqlo’s online store—available now. Whether you’re a parent sharing the magic of Mario with your kids like I am or just reliving the 8-bit glory days in style, these shirts are a celebration of fun, family, and four decades of unforgettable gaming.
Let’s-a go—stylishly!
