Toronto Blue Jays All-star first basemen Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has been named cover athlete for MLB The Show 24. Along with the cover athlete reveal, the latest instalment of the best-selling baseball video game franchise is set to launch on March 19th, 2024, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.

It’s no mystery as to why Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was chose as the cover athelete for MLB The Show 24, he is one of the most talented and exciting players in baseball. He made his MLB debut in 2019 with the Toronto Blue Jays, following the footsteps of his father, Vladimir Guerrero Sr., who is a Hall of Famer. Since then, he has established himself as a powerful hitter, earning three All-Star selections, a Silver Slugger award, and a Gold Glove award. He also won the Home Run Derby in 2023, setting a record for the most home runs in a single round.
Honouring the Guerrero Family Baseball Legacy
Along with these announcements, MLB The Show also shared “Ride to Reveal,” a documentary that takes you on a journey with Vladimir Guerrero Jr. as he explores the Dominican Republic, his home country and where he started his baseball career. It also acts as a tribute to the Guerrero family, who have made their mark on MLB The Show as the first father-and-son duo to grace the cover of the game.
Ride to Reveal is not your typical sports documentary, it is a celebration of baseball and its impact on the lives of millions of people around the world. It is a showcase of the beauty and diversity of the Dominican Republic, a country that has produced some of the greatest players in the history of the game.
The segment will be hosted by David Ortiz, the legendary slugger and former cover athlete of MLB The Show. He is joined by Eladio Carrión, the Latin Grammy award-winning artist and avid gamer, who provides the soundtrack and the commentary for the documentary. Together, they accompany Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and visit different locations in the Dominican Republic, from the capital city of Santo Domingo to the rural town of Don Gregorio, where Guerrero Jr. grew up.
