New Xbox Elite Series 2 Core Controllers Announced

New options for the Xbox Elite Series 2 controllers have been announced along with Xbox Design Lab options.

Today, Xbox announced the all-new Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 Core controller. The new hardware has been designed with the "core" needs of today’s competitive gamers in mind, removing detachable accessories in order to bring the cost down. The controller still looks to provide the same great performance, customization and durability as the Xbox Elite Series 2 just with fewer frills and a lower price tag. With this announcement Microsoft is giving gamers more choice with two Elite controller options:

The Elite 2 Core Controller

The new Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 – Core in white at $129.99 USD includes the

essential components. The base features on this gaming controller include adjustable-tension thumbsticks, wrap-around rubberized grip, and shorter hair trigger locks.


The Xbox Accessories app provides you with exclusive button mapping options for limitless customization. With a rechargeable battery that can last up to 40 hours, you'll be able to keep playing your favorite games for longer. Plus, our refined components are built to withstand the wear and tear of extended gaming sessions.

The Full Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 Package

The current Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 is back in black at $179.99 USD. It includes all the Elite Core features plus premium interchangeable components. This includes a set of different thumbsticks, D-pad, and paddle shapes. Along with a carrying case will help you keep your controller and other components safe and sound. The controller can be charged either inside or outside of the case using the included USB-C cable and dock.

Elite Accessory Kit Now Available Separately

If you opt for the "core" controller experience, or need to replace your Elite 2 accessories, the accessories kit can now be purchased separately. This includes:
