PlayStation’s June 2026 State of Play delivered big, surprise reveals, release dates, and trailers, including Marvel’s Wolverine, God of War: Laufey.
PlayStation’s June 2026 State of Play was a huge showcase filled with some great surprises. It offered an exciting look at the gaming lineup for the rest of 2026 and showed some incredible titles slated for 2027.
PlayStation opened with the biggest swing of the show, Marvel’s Wolverine, and closed with a huge first-party surprise in God of War Laufey.
In between, we got a packed mix of superhero action, stylish fighting games, remakes, survival horror, character-driven adventures, action RPGs, and a few long-awaited release dates. September and October now look absolutely packed for PlayStation 5 owners, especially if you’re into action, horror, and cinematic single-player experiences.

Marvel’s Wolverine
Release Date: September 15, 2026
Platform: PlayStation 5
PlayStation kicked off the show with an extended gameplay look at Marvel’s Wolverine. The footage leaned into Logan’s speed, power, and close-quarters combat, showing a darker and very bloody side of the superhero world. We also got a better sense of the story’s larger Marvel cast, including Jean Grey and the Reavers.
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls continued the superhero theme with a new gameplay-focused trailer centred on Doctor Doom’s villain faction, the Knights of Doom. The trailer revealed Magneto, Green Goblin, and Carnage as part of Doom’s team, giving the roster a darker and more chaotic edge.
Rayman Legends: Retold
Release Date: October 1, 2026
Platform: PlayStation 5 and PC
I popped for this announcement, and the rumors were true, Rayman Legends: Retold is real, and it is coming this October. This remake refreshes the beloved platformer with updated visuals while keeping the music, co-op energy, and playful spirit that made the original stand out. It looks like a colourful return for Rayman and a strong family-friendly platformer for the fall season and I can’t wait to dive in.
Bancho The Chef
Release Date: TBA
Platform: PlayStation 5 and PC
From the world of Dave the Diver, Bancho The Chef is a standalone prequel focused on Bancho’s earlier journey. The game blends cooking sim ideas with RPG elements and global travel, giving one of Dave the Diver’s most memorable characters his own spotlight. No release date was announced, but more information is expected later.
Kemuri: Hunt the Unseen
Release Window: 2027
Platform: PlayStation 5 and PC
Kemuri: Hunt the Unseen was one of the most visually distinctive games in the showcase. Created by Ikumi Nakamura and her studio Unseen, the game mixes supernatural action, yokai-inspired designs, and stylish urban environments. Players can form contracts with yokai, gain new abilities, and team up in online co-op hunts when it launches in 2027.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis

Crystal Dynamics brought Lara Croft back with Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, a remake-style adventure inspired by the roots of the original Tomb Raider. The trailer leaned into ancient mystery, dangerous ruins, and Lara’s search for secrets tied to Atlantis. It looks like a modern reimagining of classic Tomb Raider, built for a new generation while still honouring the series’ history as a fan of the series, I loved what I saw and can’t wait for our next look.
The Lost Wild
Release Window: 2027
Platform: PlayStation 5 and PC
The Lost Wild brought a tense shift into survival-horror to the showcase. Rather than focusing on fighting dinosaurs, the game is built around evasion, observation, and staying alive in dangerous environments. Think Jurassic Park, with dinosaurs presented more as unpredictable animals than as simple monsters, which gives the game a grounded, suspenseful feel.
Phantom Blade Zero
Release Date: October 29, 2026
Platform: PlayStation 5 and PC
Phantom Blade Zero appeared with a short but stylish new tease. The game continues to stand out thanks to its fast martial-arts action, cinematic swordplay, and dark atmosphere. A deeper look at the game’s story and gameplay is coming later this summer, ahead of its October 29 launch.
Dune: Awakening

Dune: Awakening made an appearance with a console release date and new single-player content for PS5. Set on Arrakis, the game blends survival, exploration, faction conflict, and large-scale worldbuilding. I’m excited about a new single-player mode; it really piqued my interest, offering a more guided, story-driven entry into the harsh, dangerous world of Dune.
Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered
Release Date: October 1, 2026
Platform: PlayStation 5 and PC
Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered revives one of the most beloved entries in Koei Tecmo’s long-running action series. This remaster includes the original game along with content from Xtreme Legends, giving fans a more complete version of the classic Musou experience. It gave us a look at massive battlefields, huge enemy counts, and the return of a game that helped define the series.
No Rest for the Wicked
Release Window: October 2026
Platform: PlayStation 5 and PC
Moon Studios’ No Rest for the Wicked is coming to PS5 with its full 1.0 release this October. The action RPG features weighty combat, loot-driven progression, dark fantasy environments, and a striking painterly art style. The State of Play trailer showed new areas, enemies, weapons, bosses, and a reworked class system.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword
Release Date: September 25, 2026
Platform: PlayStation 5 and PC
Capcom revealed a new trailer for Onimusha: Way of the Sword and confirmed its September 25 release date. The game brings the classic samurai action series back with cinematic swordplay, supernatural enemies, and a dark historical-fantasy tone. A demo is available now, so you can try your hand at supernatural samurai action now.
Silent Hill: Townfall

Konami showed a deeper look at Silent Hill: Townfall and locked in a September 24th, 2026 release date. The trailer introduced the fog-covered town of St. Amelia, a new character named Zoe, and a mysterious CRTV device at the centre of the story. It looks like a more intimate psychological horror experience within the larger Silent Hill universe.
Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve
Release Date: October 2, 2026
Platform: PlayStation 5 and PC
Bandai Namco brought Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve back with a new trailer and is on target for a October 2nd release date. The footage showed fast aerial combat, massive military set pieces, and a new campaign with more than 30 aircraft.
Stuntman: Hollywood
Release Date: TBA
Platform: PlayStation 5 and PC
One of the biggest surprises of the show was Stuntman: Hollywood, a new entry in the stunt-driving series. Players step into the role of a Hollywood stunt performer, taking on wild driving challenges inspired by movies and television. No release date has been announced, but the game is now available to wishlist.
ILL
Release Window: 2027
Platform: PlayStation 5 and PC
ILL returned with a new story trailer and remains one of the most unsettling horror games on the horizon. Developed by Team Clout, it is a first-person action-horror game focused on realism, atmosphere, and intense survival. The trailer leaned into tension and disturbing environments, giving horror fans another 2027 title to watch.
Control Resonant
Release Date: September 24th, 2026
Platform: PlayStation 5 and PC
Remedy returned with a new story trailer for Control Resonant and it was its best yet. The footage showed a warped version of Manhattan, Dylan in a major role, and the Aberrant, a shapeshifting weapon that builds on the first game's strange combat style. It looks like Remedy is expanding the world of Control while keeping its unsettling, reality-bending identity intact.
Marathon Season 2: Nightfall
Season Start Date: June 2, 2026
Platform: PlayStation 5 and PC
Bungie showed Marathon Season 2: Nightfall, which launched the same day as State of Play. The season adds a new zone, a new Runner shell, new gear, and more PvPvE action on Tau Ceti IV. Sony also highlighted an open play week running from June 2nd to June 9th
RuneScape: Dragonwilds Arrives on PlayStation Plus

RuneScape: Dragonwilds was revealed as a day-one PlayStation Plus Game Catalog release for Extra and Premium members. The open-world survival crafting spinoff brings RuneScape’s fantasy world to PS5 with exploration, base building, magic, and dragons. Its Game Catalog launch makes it one of the bigger PlayStation Plus announcements from the show.
Until Dawn 2
Release Window: 2027
Platform: PlayStation 5
Sony officially announced Until Dawn 2, a sequel to the cult PS4 horror favourite. Developed by Firesprite, the sequel features a new cast, a new setting, and a standalone story centred on ghost hunters on an abandoned tropical island. It looks like PlayStation is bringing back cinematic choice-driven horror in a big way, and this first look has me very excited.
God of War Laufey
Release Date: TBA
Platform: PlayStation 5
PlayStation closed the show with a massive surprise: God of War Laufey. This new God of War spinoff shifts the focus to Laufey, also known as Faye, following her funeral at the beginning of God of War (2018). The trailer showed her awakening in the Everywhen, a strange afterlife for gods, while introducing new cast members, including Deborah Ann Woll as Laufey and Jack Quaid as a talking cube named Phranque. I personally cannot wait to see more and eventually go hand-on with the latest installment in the God of War franchise.
